Vitesse manager Henk Fraser is eager to take revenge on old club ADO Den Haag after losing 1-2 at home earlier this season. Vitesse are unbeaten in 2017 and the players are hoping to take the three points home tonight.
Vitesse will fight for a semi- final spot in the KNVB Bekker cup on Thursday 26 January as they face league leaders Feyenoord football club at Gelredome.
Having recently found their form with a 3-1 win over Fc Twente and an away draw to Groningen, Henk Fraser’s boys will be looking to upset the league leaders.
Vitesse will travel to play middle table rivals FC Groningen on Saturday 21st January at Euroborg stadium with both sides in need of three points to secure a place to play in the champions league. Henk Fraser’s men got the second half of the season on track with a convincing 3-1 win over FC Twente and FC Groningen is definately another tough test for the Yellow-Blacks.
The Eredivisie restarts after a long winter-break. Vitesse lost the last match before the winter-break against Feyenoord with 3-1 and now sit 8th with 23 points out of 17 matches. The squad is eager for revenge in the second half of the season as they want to qualify for Europa League football. FC Twente is the first opponent this Sunday (14.30CET/13.30GMT)
The Eredivisie starts again after the international break with a match between Heerenveen and Vitesse on Saturday. Heerenveen are in-form and have 22 out of 12 points, while Vitesse managed to get 15. Henk Fraser’s man are hoping to get back on track in and against Heerenveen.
Vitesse will play Go Ahead Eagles at home on 17th September, a game that means more than just a regular football match to the locals. The home side will once again honour the brave men of British 1st Airborne division who fought valiantly to take the bridge over Lower Rhine in September 1944 by wearing their colours of claret and blue as opposed to the club’s traditional yellow and black stripes. The annual Airborne game will create a special atmosphere in the stadium and will hopefully spur the team on to the first home win of the season.
Vitesse will play an important away match against Ajax this weekend. Peter Bosz, who was the Vitesse manager between summer 2013 and January 2016, took over as Ajax manager this season but hasn’t started the season well. Vitesse have won both away matches of this season and are hoping to complete the hattrick in Amsterdam.
